Season in review: NASCAR.com experts make picks (NASCAR.com)

Best race, I don't know, but the finish was a thrilling conclusion to a wild afternoon at Auto Club in March with Stewart-Haas Racing teammates Kurt Busch and Tony Stewart dicing it up on a green-white-checkered sprint along with rookie Kyle Larson and the day's winner, Kyle Busch. Whether it was the new rules package or the rush to beat the weather, it all produced a mesmerizing 500 miles in NASCAR's biggest event. Kyle Busch's happiness melded with Jeff Gordon's despair after seeing one get away.

Alyssa Milano leads NASCAR fantasy celebrity league (NASCAR.com)

For the fourth time in six weeks, Alyssa Milano led the way in the NASCAR fantasy celebrity league. The key to Milano's effort was having three drivers in her lineup that finished in the top 10 in the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway. Milano was the only player to have race winner Brad Keselowski in her lineup. Former NFL player Dhani Jones used a second-place showing to take back second place in the overall standings from UFC star Johny Hendricks.

Richard Petty adjusts to life alone, says son (NASCAR.com)

Kyle Petty says his father, seven-time NASCAR champion Richard Petty, is coping as best he can after losing his wife, Lynda, last month. ''He's doing pretty good, he's used to going to the race tracks and being at the race tracks alone, but he's not used to being at home and being alone,'' Kyle Petty told the Associated Press on Friday. The King's son won the pole for Saturday's Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race in Long Beach, Calif., and addressed his father's reaction to the loss of Lynda Petty. "They were together 57 years and even though he spent 50 of those 57 years on the road, according to him, at race tracks, it's been a lot harder and a lot tougher (than he thought)," Kyle Petty told AP.
